Sensors can take up to 24 hours to calibrate. During that period, some people's readings can be unusually low or high as the sensor settles. This is part of the sensor calibration process.
It may be a faulty sensor if your readings seem off beyond this 24 hour window. If that is the case please reach out to support before removing it so that we can continue to help troubleshoot this issue and determine whether or not it needs to be replaced.
Will this affect how my weight loss or optimal glucose range is calculated?
Regardless of any abnormal readings from your sensor, our automated upper bound functionality will adjust your glucose range over multiple sensors to accurately assess your proper range.
