First 24 hours of a new sensor
Sensors can take up to 24 hours to calibrate. During that period, readings can be unusually high, low, or erratic as the sensor settles. This is a normal part of the sensor's self-calibration process.
It may be a faulty sensor if your readings seem off beyond this 24 hour window. If that is the case please reach out to support before removing it, so that we can continue to help troubleshoot this issue and determine whether or not it needs to be replaced.
Pressure on the sensor
Excess pressure on the sensor, such as from leaning or lying directly on it can cause very low readings or Temporary Errors. These are often seen overnight, when accidentally lying on the sensor in your sleep. Readings should return to normal once the pressure has been alleviated.
Exposure to heat or cold
The ideal operating temperature for the sensor is 50°F to 113°F. Exposure to temperatures outside of this range can cause abnormal readings or errors.
