According to official testing, the Stelo CGM is 93% accurate. This means that 93% of its readings fall within the 20/20% YSI standard (Yellow Springs Instrument, a gold-standard laboratory blood glucose test).
The criteria are as follows:
- If the lab result is greater than 70 mg/dL, the Stelo reading must be within ±20% of the reference value.
- If the lab result is less than 70 mg/dL, the Stelo reading must be within ±20 mg/dL of the reference value
For example, if a lab-measured value is 100 mg/dL, any Stelo reading between 80 and 120 mg/dL would be considered accurate.
Accuracy ranges like this are typical for all glucose measuring devices — including CGMs and blood glucose meters — so it’s completely normal for values not to align exactly all the time.
