The CGM cannot be worn during during magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT) scan, or high-frequency electrical heat (diathermy) treatments. The CGM Signos uses hasn’t been tested in these situations. The magnetic fields and heat could damage its components, which may cause it to display inaccurate glucose readings. Almost all facilities will require that you remove the CGM during the procedure for your safety.
To properly prepare for a procedure of this nature, you can either time the procedure with your next sensor replacement or stop your sensor early. For more information on how to stop your sensor early, check out this article.
If you choose to go forward with the procedure while still wearing an active CGM and you are not instructed to remove it by the facility, then you assume the risk of any damage.
