Your Signos home screen will now include the Macro Widget, which shows your daily fiber and protein progress toward your minimum targets. Including fiber and protein in a balanced diet has been shown to help stabilize glucose and support your journey to optimizing your metabolic health. You can find more information on our blog, but here are a couple of posts to help you get started:
- Dietary Fiber: A Crucial Nutrient For Metabolic Health
- Proteins 101: Types, Benefits, and How to Use Them for Energy and Glucose Control
The Macro Widget is a progress bar that will show your current values vs. your target values for protein and fiber. It appears just below the glucose graph and updates automatically as you log meals throughout the day — no changes to how you log are needed.
Fiber needs: Fiber slows the rate of glucose absorption, helps prevent sharp spikes, and supports your gut and hormone health. Most people only get about 15 grams per day, which is less than recommended.
Protein needs: Protein does not spike blood sugar the way many carbohydrates do. It helps keep you full longer, reduces cravings, and supports lean muscle mass and a healthy metabolism.
How are My Targets calculated:
Protein: Your goal weight (lbs) x 0.7g protein per day
Fiber:
- Females: 25 grams per day
- Males: 35 grams per day
*Your targets are automatically calculated in the app using your profile data.
Need to update your goal weight? Check out this article with the steps to update it on your Signos app.
This feature is available to all users on the Signos app.
New users: your Macro Widget will be available on your Signos home screen by Default.
Existing users: to enable your Macro Widget, simply head to Accounts & Settings -> Specialty Programs -> Nutrition Tracking and toggle it on.
Turning the Card On or Off
Go to Accounts and Settings → Programs & Widgets → Macro Widget and toggle it on or off. Turning it off hides the card from your home screen but does not delete your meal data.
