Understand how your menstrual cycle affects your glucose levels — and your overall health.
Cycle Tracking lets you log your period, see your current cycle phase, and visualize how hormonal shifts connect to your glucose data — all in one place. It's available to all female users and can be enabled or paused at any time in Settings.
Overview
When Cycle Tracking is enabled, Signos automatically calculates your current cycle phase based on your period logs and displays it on your glucose graph and throughout the app.
Your cycle is divided into four phases, each shown in a distinct color across the app:
Menstrual Day 1 through the end of your period. Hormone levels are at their lowest.
Follicular Estrogen rises as your body prepares to release an egg. Energy often improves.
Ovulation A 5-day fertile window centered around ovulation. Peak energy for many people.
Luteal Progesterone rises after ovulation. Glucose variability often increases in this phase.
Predicted Period Signos will use your questionnaire and logged data for a predicted next period start date
Phase boundaries are personalized to your cycle length. Signos uses a research-backed backward-counting method to calculate phases — the same approach used in NIH-validated studies, with up to 59% accuracy versus 18% for standard forward-counting.

Setting up Cycle Tracking
If you haven't set up Cycle Tracking yet, a prompt will appear at the top of your Home screen. You can also enable it manually at any time.
First-time setup
- Tap the "Set Up Cycle Tracking" prompt on your Home Screen or go to Accounts and Settings, tap Programs and Widgets, then toggle Cycle Tracking on.
- Complete the short cycle questionnaire - you’ll be asked about PCOS, birth control, cycle regularity, typical cycle and period length, and your last period.
- Once the questionnaire is complete, the Cycle tab will appear on your Log screen, and your current phase will show below your glucose graph on your Home screen.
|
💡 Note If you tap “Do this later” on the questionnaire, the Home screen prompt will be dismissed. You can return to your questionnaire and finish it at any time by going to Accounts and Settings, then Programs and Widgets. |
How to Edit Your Questionnaire
You can edit the questionnaire at any time by following these steps:
- Open Accounts and Settings, then open Programs and Widgets.
- Under Cycle Tracking, tap View Cycle Preferences
- This will open your questionnaire. If you need to edit any information, use the pencil icon to update it. After you’ve edited your information, make sure to click Save changes to make sure your Cycle Preferences are up to date.
Enable/Disabling Cycle Tracking
You can turn Cycle Tracking on and off at any time without losing your data.
- Go to Accounts and Settings, tap Programs and Widgets, and you will see Cycle Tracking, along with other features.
- Toggle the feature on to enable, off to disable. The Cycle tab in the Log sections of the app and the current phase on your Home screen will be hidden until you re-enable it.
Logging Your Period
Accurate period logs are how Signos calculates your cycle phases and predicts your next period. You have two options: manual entry or automatic sync.
Option A — Manual entry
If you want to manually log your period in the Signos app, follow these steps:
- From the Log screen, toggle the Cycle tab at the top.
- Select a day on your cycle tracker weekly calendar view to log your period, and tap it again to remove it.
- Keep in mind that you will need to log for each day of your period; period days are marked with a dark pink indicator.
- Your current phase, cycle day, and predicted next period will be updated automatically.
|
💡 Note Period logging is only available from the Cycle tab — it is not available via the quick log (+) button. |
Option B — Sync from Apple Health or Google Health
If you already track your cycle in Apple Health, the Health app, or a third-party period tracker that syncs to HealthKit or Google Health Connect, syncing is the fastest way to get started.
For Android Users:
- Go to Account and Settings, tap Health Data Sources, and connect Google Health Connect.
- Signos will automatically import any existing period data and keep it synced going forward. You will see a check mark under the date for synced menstrual data.
For iOS Users:
- If you're prompted for sharing permissions in the app, toggle write and read permissions for menstruation.
- If you want to share permissions later: go to the Apple Health app, tap Sharing, open your App list, open Signos, and toggle menstruation in the "Allow Signos to write" and Allow Signos to read" sections to share.

💡 Note If you forget to log your period, you can tap a date on the monthly calendar view and log a previous period using the same steps. |
Reading Your Cycle Data
Once Cycle Tracking is active, you'll find your cycle information in two places:
Home screen — glucose graph
Phase label — your current phase appears below the glucose graph (e.g., "Luteal Phase") and scrolls with the graph so you can see phase context alongside your glucose data. The color will change as you go through your different phases of the cycle.
- You can tap the ℹ icon to open the phase card, which includes more information on what you might notice in your body, glucose patterns, and symptoms you might experience.
Log screen — Cycle tab
Your log screen will look a little different with the Cycle tracking enabled. It will show multiple toggle views, including: Glucose & Habits, Cycle Tracking, and GLP-1. The Cycle tab will contain all your cycle-tracking information and let you log periods and symptoms, while your Glucose & Habits tab will include all the features you’re used to, including meal, exercise, and sleep logging.
Within the Cycle Tracking log tab, here are the new sections:
- Phase card — shows your current phase name, a brief description of what to expect, and a link to learn more.
- Weekly Calendar View — a 7-day view that shows where you are in your cycle and allows you to log a period.
- Full calendar — a view of the full calendar month, including all four phases sorted by color. You can navigate to this section by tapping the calendar icon in the top-right corner of your Cycle Tracking log screen.
- Symptoms - log your symptoms each day as needed. Tap log symptom and choose a previously logged symptom, or create a custom tag, and Signos will help spot the patterns between your cycle and your metabolic response.
- Information Icon - if you need more information on cycle phases, how to log your period, or a reminder on calendar colors, tap the ℹ icon in the top-right corner of your Cycle Tracking log screen.
- Estimated period — your predicted next period start date appears as a banner on the Phase card 3 days before your period during your Luteal phase.
Irregular Cycles
Cycle Tracking is designed for regular and semi-regular cycles. If your cycle is highly irregular, phase predictions will be hidden to avoid showing inaccurate information. Logging is still encouraged — your data will help surface patterns over time.
Sporadic/no bleeding - cycle predictions are off due to stating the information from onboarding/questionnaire and instructions; keep logging symptoms over time.
|
Reminders: Staying on top of period logs keeps your phase calculations accurate. Even one missed cycle can shift phase predictions by several days. |
Troubleshooting
| The Cycle tab isn't visible | Make sure you've completed the cycle questionnaire. Go to Accounts & Settings → Programs & Widgets → Cycle Tracking to check. The Cycle tab only appears after the questionnaire is finished and the feature is enabled. |
| My cycle phase looks wrong | Phase calculations require at least two complete logged cycles for full accuracy. If you've just started, Signos uses your questionnaire estimates. Log your period days as accurately as possible and accuracy will improve over time. |
| HealthKit / Health Connect data isn't syncing | Go to Accounts & Settings → Health Data Sources and confirm the connection is active. On iOS, open the Health app and verify that Signos has permission to read Menstrual Data. On Android, open Health Connect and check app permissions. |
| No phase prediction is showing | If your cycle is irregular, Signos will not display phase predictions — irregular cycles can't be reliably predicted. Continue logging your period; predictions may become available as more data is captured. |
| I accidentally logged the wrong dates | Open the Cycle tab, tap the date in the full calendar, and deselect it to remove the period marker. If data came from HealthKit or Health Connect, correct it in the source app and it will re-sync. |
| The Home screen prompt disappeared before I completed setup | You likely tapped "Do this later." To restart setup, go to Accounts &Settings → Programs & Widgets → Cycle Tracking. |
